When Europeans first arrived to this continent Bald Eagles were abundant but as the human population increased along with agricultures use of DDT the nations Bald Eagle population started to plummet. In 1967 Bald Eagles were officially put on the endangered species list in all areas of the
United States. With the banning of DDT and work of untold number of volunteers our National Symbol has fought its way back and was removed from the Endangered Species List in 1995. This beautiful bird not only represents overcoming adversity, it also represents Patriotism and the Freedom America stands for.
